For instance, some were rejected due to concerns about the potential physical danger to the extradited individuals, conditions of detention, and doubts regarding the fairness of judicial proceedings.
In addition, the Department underwent significant personnel changes and a process of reorganization.
So, the core focus of the training session was strengthening the Department’s team, defining strategic needs and challenges, as well as analyzing the specifics of international legal cooperation and extradition in the context of the ongoing armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.
The facilitator of the session was Mr Hennadii Chuprykov, the national consultant of the Council of Europe. The session was also joined by international experts from the Council of Europe – Mr Jeremy McBride and Ms Catherine Carrie, as well as by the national consultant Mr Nazar Kulchytskyy.
